Industrial Engineer (Garments Production)

Eastport Limited, a 100% export-oriented garment manufacturer and a production unit of PORTWEST – a leading global manufacturer of safety wear based in Ireland, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Industrial Engineer to join their team in Cumilla EPZ. The company specializes in high-quality workwear garments and maintains international standards in manufacturing excellence.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Industrial Engineer to manage 4-5 sewing production lines handling complex high SMV garments such as jackets, coveralls, and trousers. The role focuses on optimizing production processes, implementing line balancing, and managing quick changeovers for small quantity orders in a fast-paced export environment.

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Production Engineering (IPE) or B.Sc. in Apparel Manufacturing and Technology

• Age between 25 to 30 years

• Prior experience in workwear garments production is preferred

• Familiarity with GSD or any other SMV calculation software is an added advantage

• Experience in using individual efficiency calculation software is a plus

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and negotiation skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Smart, energetic, proactive, and career-oriented with ability to work under pressure

• Manage 4-5 sewing production lines and handle all Industrial Engineering (IE) functions for high SMV garments (50-130 minutes)

• Design efficient sewing layouts and perform line balancing for jackets, coveralls, and trousers

• Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in production processes to boost productivity

• Implement production control measures to prevent delays and bottlenecks

• Monitor low-efficiency lines and workers and take corrective actions

• Analyze individual operator performance and develop improvement plans

• Collaborate with production and technical teams for skill development

• Manage quick changeover (QCO) for small quantity orders

• Work towards achieving company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
