Overview
iDE Bangladesh, a leading international development organization dedicated to creating income and livelihood opportunities for the rural poor, is inviting applications for its prestigious Research Fellowship under the Transforming Lives Through Nutrition (TLTN) project. Since 1982, iDE Bangladesh has been at the forefront of market-based solutions in Nutrition, Agriculture, WASH, and related sectors. The TLTN project aims to strengthen health and food systems to combat malnutrition through evidence-based interventions targeting pregnant women and children under five.
This one-year paid fellowship offers recent university graduates a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nutrition-focused research, field implementation, and knowledge dissemination. Fellows will work across multiple thematic areas including nutrition and health economics, regenerative agriculture, WASH, nutrition entrepreneurship, and climate resilience while receiving comprehensive mentorship, training, and academic guidance.
The program is designed to build skilled professionals who can contribute meaningfully to public health and nutrition sectors in Bangladesh.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or BBA from a reputed university (Master’s degree or MBA preferred)
Graduation completed within the last 2 years
Preferred fields: Nutrition, Health Economics, Business Administration, Agriculture, WASH, Development Studies, Statistics, Computer Science, Communication or related disciplines
Strong interest in research with excellent analytical skills
Willingness to undertake 8-10 field visits
Full-time availability (40 hours/week) with flexibility for field work
Research-oriented mindset with preference for candidates having experience in papers, articles, or thesis
Responsibilities
Conduct field research and data collection aligned with TLTN project themes
Participate in literature reviews, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs)
Support program implementation through market systems assessments, nutrition promotion, and related activities
Document innovations, operational improvements, and research insights
Prepare monthly progress reports, case studies, and technical summaries
Contribute to publication of at least one article or conference paper
Participate in training sessions on research methodology and statistical analysis
Engage in photovoice events and knowledge dissemination activities
